Telephone Calls

  • You are welcome to call the office with any questions you have on medical matters.
  • The office staff will relay information to the doctor when necessary.
  • If you are ill, please schedule an appointment.
  • The doctor or nurse will return your call the same day, whenever possible.
  • We prefer that prescription refills be filled by your regular physician during regular office hours.
  • It is our policy not to prescribe new medications over the phone.

Appointments
  • We try to see all patients on an appointment basis.
  • Appointments can be scheduled Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
  • We will make every effort to see you at your scheduled time.
  • However, emergencies occasionally interrupt the schedule.
  • We will attempt to notify you of any delay in advance and will schedule a new appointment time if necessary. If you cannot keep your appointment, please call and cancel at least 24 hours in advance, so we may give that time to another patient.

Emergencies
  • During regular office hours: Call our office number and inform the receptionist of the nature of the problem.
  • For after-hours or weekend emergencies, dial the office phone number and wait for the answering service to answer. They will contact the on-call doctor and have him or her return your call. He or she will discuss the problem with you and decide whether you need emergency care or can be scheduled for an appointment during regular office hours.
  • Life-threatening emergencies are best handled by dialing 911 or going directly to Rapid City Regional Hospital's Emergency Department.
  • Your doctor will assume your care if you are admitted to the hospital.
